چکیده

B. Abelev et al.* (ALICE Collaboration) (Received 14 May 2013; published 5 September 2013) Azimuthally anisotropic distributions of D, Dþ, and D þ mesons were studied in the central rapidity region (jyj< 0:8) in Pb-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy ffiffiffiffiffiffiffiffi sNN p 1⁄4 2:76 TeV per nucleon-nucleon collision, with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The second Fourier coefficient v2 (commonly denoted elliptic flow) was measured in the centrality class 30%–50% as a function of the D meson transverse momentum pT , in the range 2–16 GeV=c. The measured v2 of D mesons is comparable in magnitude to that of light-flavor hadrons. It is positive in the range 2< pT < 6 GeV=cwith 5:7 significance, based on the combination of statistical and systematic uncertainties.

Correlated Event-by-Event Fluctuations of Flow Harmonics

We report the measurements of correlations between event-by-event fluctuations of amplitudes of anisotropic flow harmonics in nucleus-nucleus collisions, obtained for the first time using a new analysis method based on multiparticle cumulants in mixed harmonics. This novel method is robust against systematic biases originating from nonflow effects and by construction any dependence on symmetry ...

Nuclear modification factor of muons from heavy-flavour decays and muon elliptic flow in Pb–Pb collisions at √ sNN = 2.76 TeV

Results from the ALICE experiment on the production of muons from heavy-flavour decays, at forward rapidity, in Pb–Pb collisions at √ sNN = 2.76 TeV are reported. A particular emphasis is placed on the measurement of the nuclear modification factor as a function of transverse momentum and centrality, and on the comparison to model predictions. First results on the inclusive muon elliptic flow a...

Heavy-flavour and quarkonium measurements in Pb–Pb collisions at √ sNN = 2.76 TeV with ALICE

We report on the latest results on heavy-flavour and J/ψ production at both midrapidity and forward rapidity, in Pb–Pb collisions at √ sNN = 2.76 TeV, measured with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. We present measurements of the nuclear modification factor for open heavy-flavours and J/ψ and compare these results to model predictions. Preliminary results on the elliptic flow of D mesons and J/ψ...

Pb - Pb collisions at √ sN N = 2 . 76 TeV in a multiphase transport model

The multiplicity and elliptic flow of charged particles produced in Pb-Pb collisions at center of mass energy √ sNN = 2.76 TeV from the Large Hadron Collider are studied in a multiphase transport (AMPT) model. With the standard parameters in the HIJING model, which is used as initial conditions for subsequent partonic and hadronic scatterings in the AMPT model, the resulting multiplicity of fin...
